fuel pump not getting power
i recently replaced the engine in my 87 rx7 and buttoned it all back up and tried to start it, and guess what it didnt start. i cant hear the fuel pump and i installed a clear fuel filter and saw its not getting fuel, the relays getting fuel and iv tried multiple ecus and afms i ran power directly off the battery to the pump and it worked fine and crunk up and everything like normal, so the fuel pump isnt getting power. im thinking while putting the motor in i fucked up some wiring but im not sure where it could be so help!!! -----David-----
ps no its not the egi fuse, i just really want to know what wires if messed up could stop my fuel pump from coming on

Is the circuit opening relay clicking when the key is moved to start? Or when the key is on, and the AFM door is pushed in a bit? (the relay is under the dash, to the right of the steering column, yellow-colored bottom).
If it's not clicking in either of the above scenarios, check your 15A "engine" fuse, down in the cabin fuse box.
Also check the pump connector at the rear left strut tower for power & ground (blue wire on the chassis side is power, black is ground), with the key on & the yellow check connector jumpered (near the AFM).

1. Fuel pumps DO NOT come on when the key is put to ON unless
2. UNLESS a jumper wire is put in the fuel pump check connector.
3. It DOES come on ANY time you hold the key to START.
4. It stays ON if the engine has actually started and the key is returned to ON.
5. IF you spray starter fluid into the airfilter and try to start the car....does it briefly start?? Never keep an engine running with starter fluid, just to initially start it.
6. So I suggest jumpering the fuel pump check connector and listening for the pump action.
7. And if it's a Jspec engine.....the fuel lines are just opposite on the jspec engine vs the USA version. You'd just have to swap the fuel hoses at the left side of the engine.
