fuel proplem i think?????????

Question fuel proplem i think?????????

ever since i bought my s4 rx7 13bt it had always had bad fuel economy i mean like 1/2 a tank to 100kms that was on the high way ive had it dyno before that and even before it was bad could it be the fuel reg or dirty injecters?????? when ever i start it up and let it idle it spit out heaps of black crap smells like fuel and i have two big black patches on the ground in my garage. i get about 200 odd kms to a tank any body got an ideas

wouldn't hurt to clean the injectors you can try some injector cleaner in your gas and see if it help, but your probley going to want to send them somewhere to have them cleaned. I don't know anywhere in Australia off the top of my head but be have www.cruzinpreformance.com and some others here in the states that can do it.

Check and make sure the 02 sensor is working.

Ohm out the water thermo sensor, FROM the ECU. Its easier from there. See fsm for details.

Possibly an injector issue. Number ten on my list.

Make sure the boost/pressure sensor is functioning.

Possibly low compression.

Download the manual from http://www.iluvmyrx7.com to do the above. Just download the FUEL section alone. Less time involved.

the fsm might help a little but ive got a aftermarket computer installed so i dont have an afm and other junk but ill dl it anyway and have a look

You probably have a very poorly tuned computer. A well tuned prgrammable computer should improve fuel economy over stock, not worsen it.
