Fuel Problem Write Up

Hey Guys,

It seems the reason my car (86N/A chassis with a 88TII Engine) wont start is my injectors are not spraying fuel!

As of right now im using a Brand New Low Impedence EM Harness (grey/tan plugs, with a center slot, Used in the 86-87 TII) in conjunction with High Impedence Injectors (red/purple plugs, with an offset slot, Used in the 88 TII) What i did to make them compatible was take the resistor pack, cut the wires about half way, and solder them all together. I then used liquid tape to seal and protect the wires and wraped it again in high heat electrical tape.

I do have one question about this set up. The injector connectors are just pushed onto the plugs, should i remove my injectors and scrape/cut the tab off?

Last time i checked the FD fuel pump i have installed was working, I also had my injectors flow tested and cleaned. My AFM is new and I also just installed a refurbished ECU, i also had 89+ PSI for compression on both Rotors.

As i further dive into this mess I call a hobby, I will post here and mabye this will make it to the archive. If i am missing anything and you want to, add to my list of things to check.

Things to Check
1. Fuel Pump
2. Injectors
3. AFM

If it were me, I'd get a meter out and check the spliced area you made and look for batt voltage there with the key ON, and or go to the ECU and pull it's small plug off and with the key to ON, see if the light green, light green/black, light green/red and light green white have batt voltage on them.

If you have batt voltage on those wires, then the injectors should be working.

You might check and see if the fuel rails are getting fuel. PUll the rear fuel line off the engine, turn the key to ON, and then jumper the fuel pump check connector. Fuel should flow from the hard return line when you do that IF everything fuel related is connected right.

IF you jumper the fuel pump check connector and turn the key to ON, and hear the fuel pump running, that in itself confirms the ENGINE fuse is good.

Well im getting fuel to the hard lines, and im also going to check fuel pressure but first i need to pick the gauge up. when i get back i will also check voltage to the injectors. i just had my brothers friends dad who used to work on fc's for mazda come in and give a quick look and he said it doesnt sound like the injectors are pulsing at all. he told me i should double check all pins on the ecu for the correct voltage using my volt meter, so i guess ill do that too.
