my car is hard to start, but if i crack it over some few time it will start. once its on it once to die and as sone as i give it gas it trys to cutt of like it if wasn't getting enough gas. i checky my fuel pump by jumping the yellow cabel thats in the driver side front and lesining for a sond in the fuel tank. i did so and i didn't hear anything???? what could be the problem??? pleas help. thanx

 

Did you turn the ignition to the "on" position?

 

well if the car runs at all the fuel pump must be turning on enough to pressurize the system. You must have jumpered the wrong plug. Or the fuel pump is only coming on intermitently.

Make sure you jumpered the correct plug and then check for voltage at the pump.

 

yeah i jump the fuel pupm with ingnition on and nothing???

 

Sorry, the yellow two socket connector is on the right side of the car near the right front strut tower. Key to ON, Jumper b/t the two sockets.

 

yeah right side front(driver side) thats the one i'm jumping but nothing.... but the car while turn on but die shortly afther and if it starts and i apply the gas pedil it die like if its not getting enough gas?????
