Fuel pressure question!

Scenario:

Start car, goto work. 8 hours later return to car.

Turn key forward, fuel pump comes on, can hear the fuel system priming, the click, it's quieter.

Is this normal? Should the fuel system be depressurizing over time?

It's normal.
I think the fuel system is supposed to hold pressure for like 15 minute to 30 minutes after you shut the engine down.
It will depressurize over time after that.
