Fuel in oil? Now what?

I just got my 87TII back running again yesterday. I had a grounding issue, or at least that is what I thought. Cranked up this afternoon and ran, but not well. I changed plugs and the oil and then bolted cover plate back over ecu and now the sob will not run. I also smelt fuel in the oil when I drained it. What in the hell is going on? I regrounded vehicle per www.rotaryressurection.com, new battery, new plugs, plug wires, fuel pump, afm, main relay. WTF

its common to get a bit of gas in the oil, even more commmon on a high milage rotary, or if flooding has ocured once or more.

Well, I pulled the carpet backup, removed the cover over the ecu, and it runs??? Still a lot of hesitation and very poor throttle response. IDUNNO...? I have read through the FAQ'S and that is why I have gone through so many steps to get my ride back up and running. I am at a loss, and could greatly use some help.
Thanks
Nolan

Angry

Car idles great at 750rpm. From idle accellerating to 3800rpm is very rough. Above 3800rpm is clean and quick. I was told that there were new primary injectors were installed during rebuild, but now I am pretty scepticle of that due to the rpm's in wick I am having the hesitaion.
