Fuel lines touching the engine block. Is that safe?
After ditching the rats nest, My fuel lines now rest on top of the engine block. As you know, the block gets a bit toasty, so I was wondering if anyone else beside Kenteth's fuel lines are like that. It kinda bothers me so I went to Napa and bought 12 feet of new fuel line to run it along the fire wall. They only charged me for 10 feet but it was still $60. Just wondering how you guys have your fuel lines routed.
my fuel lines are sitting between the gold colored bracket and the rear rotor housing. haven't had any problems. although, i never really thought about the possibility of power loss due to hot fuel. hmmm....
Get yourself some "spiral wrap" or some other form of the plastic ribbed sheathing that's designed for just this purpose- to keep wiring, fuel hose. etc.. from chaffing against metal objects, and allows some protection from heat. Should be at your local auto parts store...Almost my entire fuel run near the engine is sheathed in this stuff...
