Fuel line leak, Best way to find ?

What would be the best way to find a fuel line leak, and what size tubing would i need to replace it, i think it may be the line to the Fuel rails. After i drove it only about 200ft, i could smell gas, bad.

Use a lighter! JK!!

Is the car a TII or an N/A? The best way I have found is to take the upper intake off, reinstall injectors into the secondary positions, tie strap them in.Make sure the whole fueling system is hooked up.. Then install the fuel pump jumper. This allows you to run the pump with just the key on. Look for leaks!

Make sure you use high pressure fuel hose. The fuel injection fuel hose. If you are paying 90 cents per foot you are buying the wrong stuff. The proper stuff will cost $3+ per foot.

Also, use real hose clamps. The worm drive or something better. Not sure what is better but I have heard of them. The stock clamps are not good to reuse.

Well i have a Banjo bolt on the way, so hopefully it is just the PD. Where would i find this Fuel tubing at ? Does it have specific name that i could ask for at Autozone ?

its a S4 N/A

Fuel pump jumper ?!

EDIT: While i got a post up, Would Injector cleaner, andoctane boost be a good idea on a high mileage engine (170k) the octane boost bottles say it restores power, and removes carbon deposits, is there any truth to this ?

Okay, the fuel pump jumper is a yellow 2 pole connector by your AFM (your air filter). You jumper this connector, and you can run the pump without the motor running. This makes looking for leaks VERY EASY. (you just turn the key to the "on" position).

Injector cleaner isnt bad stuff, I swear by STP. But octane booster is a waste of your money. Your car is designed to burn 87, anything higher then that is going to hurt your performance, unless you have mods.

Jarrett

*edit* I am gonna bet that someone is going to recommend ATF to remove your carbon deposits. For the record, I am against it.

I bought some at AutoZone. Made by Goodyear. That was a nice warm fuzzy feeling. Believe Advance Auto does not sell it.

It was like $4 per foot. But you only need like 3
