fuel leaking at end of fuel rail... common symptom?

first off its an 88 conv n/a......ok as i was driving down the road i smelt fuel pretty bad, at first i was like "**** my pulsation damper went out" so i popped the hood and looked at it and it was fine... at the end of the fuel rail closest to the firewall there was fuel all around the end of it.... the injector rings and that part of the rail was not wet at all... just the end where the hose is. is there an o ring inside that bolt with the hose on it or does anybody know how to fix this.... i can provide pics if nobody understands what im saying... i cranked the car and watched for any leaks but after 10 min it still wasnt losing a drop at that spot so im guessing its only high rev high speed fuel pressure thats making it leak.. any help would be great ... thanks guys

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about. Pics would help, I'd rather not guess when it comes to fuel.

Check the fuel hose going to it.

The hose at the end has a clamp on it. Maybe it has a hole in it.

Get what ever it is fixed asap though.

You are fucked as soon as there is enough fuel to pool up then trickle onto the exhaust.

I think you tightened the BANJO Bolt on the end of the fuel rail. That bolt, large in size, has two copper washers used on its installation. One of the copper washers must be dinged up a bit. Buy two more from Mazda and install them if it leaks again. It's also possible the last person that worked on it left one of the washers off.
