Fuel Leak

I got a fuel leak on my Turbo II when it's running, but not when the keys off. I've heard that these cars dump fuel, but do they dump that much? I see it dripping on the back of the motor, near the exhaust manifold. Is that a bad thing?

I would say so. An engine fire is almost a certainty. I would check your fuel lines behind the UIM. You can also run the fuel pump with the engine not running by jumpering a white plug on the passenger side fender wall. At least that is where it is on the N/As. You will need to turn the ignition switch to the "on" position, however. By running the fuel pump you can then search for the source of the leak without the risk of fire from a hot engine/exhaust.

It doesn't leak when the keys "on", I would think that the leak could be coming form the injectors when firing, I think the O-rings are probably worn out. Since with the key on there's still pressure going up to the motor at all times, right?

No, the fuel pump circuit is not closed until you have the jumper wire in the plug that I mentioned. So the fuel pump is not running to pressurize your fuel system. You can distinctly hear the groan of the fuel pump when it is running with the engine not running. Moreover, the leak may only occur when the system is under pressure.

Is it the injectors? Possibly. But you will not know the precise source until you pressurize the fuel system, get your head in there and check it over.

Two. Loop a wire with one end inserted in one side of the plug and one in the other.
