I know you want a write up, but really, it's not that hard. Take off the upper intake manifold and there they are. All I had was the FSM and the haynes manual.

turbo or n/a?

I had to take my injectors out today because I had a feeling they were the reason for my stuttering while boosting at high rpm after 5 days of troubleshooting. Found out the wire loosened its way out the injector clip on the secondaries......

When you take off the upper manifold to get to the injectors, ALWAYS put some wad of paper or tape up the intake opening, something WILL fall in there and when it does, better hope it doesnt fall into the housing, or you will have to take the engine apart.

it isn't hard, for some reason both of my primary rail bolts broke on removal, yes i was going lefty loosy, it was dumb, I had to drill and tap. so unless that happens to you I think you will be ok.

Hi. It looks as if I may have an issue with my injectors because after not starting at all and just cranking, I changed the spark plugs, the gas filter, the oil and oil filter, added a few gallons of V Power Shell 93 octane gas to an almost empty tank and no I can start it BUT it stalls out. If I can start it and give it enough gas in time and keep it at 3000-4000 rpms then I am fine, but after allowing it to idle it stalls. What do you guys suggest I do next? I am new to all this and never even did these few things above to my car, but I want to solve this problem. So, can someone direct me to where I can read exactly how to remove the manifold and get to these injectors? I have a 1990 GXL with 32k in nearly mint condition btw. Thanks and I hope you can help me. Dave

Any one got any diagrams of an n/a motor. Like the basic break down and every equipment and components under the hood. I was looking at Mazdatrix website and the tech manual and books are like $300. Seriously? But if I have to purchase one then i know it will be worth it

My 91 S5 NA Convertible is doing the same thing. I had found a fuel leak under the intake and had to take out the upper and lower intake manifolds, and the fuel rail to get to it, and I had to replace the upper to lower intake plenum gasket. I did all that, and then it started doing what yours is doing. I found that the coil for the lower plugs (the one by the battery) is not sparking at all. Basically, I'm saying check your sparks before you go tearing into the intake.

hmmm, ive pulled my UIM several times since my swap over a year ago. There's not much to it, a hand full of nuts/bolts and throttle cable, ill have my whole upper set up off in 10 mins. I actually just swapped out my injectors for some EVO9 injectors tonight
