fuel injector flooding
I just recently bought a 1990 convertible and was wondering a few things about replacing the fuel injectors. It has been flooding ever since I got it so I assume i have leaky injectors. Ive read that the stock ones are 460cc and after searching online for replacements i havent been able to find any 460 ones. Also im wondering if this flooding can be caused by anything else. It usually happens when i leave it overnight but it has one time when its hot. Im just curious as to what everyone usually do for replacing them. Any other tips for a new rx7 owner are welcome as well

If you aren't upgrading your injectors, you are probably just as well off to get your old ones cleaned. You should be able to find a local shop to do the job. If not, check out Cruzin Performance, where you can get them cleaned and flow-tested for $12 each, plus shipping.

Make sure to do a compression test as well. It's as common for flooding to be caused by leaky injectors as it is low compression.
Most communities have a local injection shop that will do the cleaning for you. Generally about $20 per injector or so. Check the Yellow Pages.

Check out the Cruzin Performance link I provided. Somewhere on that site it shows the process that he uses to clean and check the injectors. Even if the pictures are "staged", it should still give you some degree of confidence in the process. He also provides every customer the before and after test results for his injectors.
I forgot to mention in my first post that the $12 price includes all new rubber pieces, and a new pintle cap for each injector, so it's a real bargain.
I'm not trying to lock you in on Cruzin Performance. You can probably get the same service locally. Or, WitchHunter Performance ( info@witchhunter.com ) is another mail order source that can fix you up.
