Fuel Injector Cleaner Making Hydrocarbons worse??

Well ive been having trouble passing emissions and just recently i put fuel injector cleaner into my gas. i have been driving it around for 2 days since and i went to do emissions today. my hydrocarbon count went up. is this normal or is there a reason?

It could be that something in the cleaner is burning and adding hydrocarbons.

thats what i thought mabey. i didnt think it would be the cleaner itself because it has alcohol in it and that burns clean.

Well, I'm not sure about this by any means, I'm just putting it out there as a possibility. Were the numbers significantly worse? It could just be that the cats were't as warm or other normal variances.

no they were warm. id been driving all day it went from 2.09 to 2.41. thats a pretty big jump.

Check the cat air injection pipe at both ends. Also you might unbolt the main catalytic converter & check it for internal damage. Also check to make sure your ACV valve is working using the online shop manual.
