im not sure if the gauge is defection. and my airfuel ration isnt to accurate but it does also shoot up. it only happens when i shift up. it usually occurs a couple seconds after i am active in the gear.

 

well, could be your baffles in the fuel tank, does it do it when you hit the brakes hard, and let off again? how high does your airfuel climb? that MIGHT be dirty injectors... still squirting after you let off the gas?.... causing your A/F mix to be rich...?
