Fuel Gauge reading EMPTY on 87 NA
We have a problem with my friends 87 NA. Whenever he has close to 1/4 tank of gas, his fuel gauge shows below the "E" mark. If he puts in MORE gas, it will read properly like say 3/8 tank of gas or 1/2 tank of gas. What could be causing it to read below EMPTY when there is still about a 1/4 tank of gas in there???

No real help here. But I bought a salvage titled 87turbo and it basically does the same as you describe. I took the sending unit in the tank out and thought just bending the float would correct the problem. It did not.After a hundred miles it reads zero. Junque yard time. Maybe thirty bucks.
