Fuel filter clip suggestions needed
I’ve replaced the fuel filter and reconnected the fuel lines, but am having trouble getting the filter reattached to the car. I can not get the right combination of alignment, pressure and turn to get the bolt holding the clip to thread up. I’ve removed the lower bolt holding the assembly to the body for more wiggle room. Every time I think I have it and let go for a wrench, the bolt pops right back out. The bolt threads up when off the car.
Is there a trick to this? Do I need to discount the fuel line from the motor and pull the whole assembly out of the car? What am I missing?
I’ve been at this for a while. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

pull the filter out of the retainer and bend the retainer arm so that the hole lines up and you can thread the bolt through, now gently slide the filter back into place and the arm should still be able to line up if it hasn't be deformed too much.

Thanks. The filter boltded back on. It took some doing, but your suggestions helped a lot. Just another job on the FC that should have been easier than it was.
