fuel filter causing fuel leak??
basically monday i backed out of the garage and smelled fuel, so i look under the car and notice gas literally POURING onto the pavement ...funny thing is the car was running great .. no stutters or signs of not getting gas
needless to say i shut it down and pushed it back into the garage
last night i replace every fuel line and the filter and now it doesnt leak at all ..
i let it idle last night for about 20 mins with no sign of leaking gas .. i drove to work this morning and no gas .. so problem solved ..
but i checked the fuel hoses that i removed, and there were no visable splits or holes, and the filter that i replaced isnt cracked or anything ... how is it possible that i was gushing out this much fuel without a broke hose?
someone said the filter could have gotten clogged and started spitting out fuel from the connections ... so im just curious if thats a possibility ...
i mean the car was POURING fuel .... i assumed before i took off the UIM that i was going to see a line in half or atleast split ...
