Fuel door and rear end stumble.

Ok my fuel door opened and it won't close now, how can I fix it?
Also, when I start off in my '86 GXL (manual tranny) the rear end stumbles a little, like it's not getting traction on gravel, even though it's just normal driving conditions (and no it's not my clutchwork, smartass!) I also want to convert my headlights so I can repalce the bubls instead of the whole light, can I just buy an H4 housing and bulb and stick it in? Please help ASAP.

First it helps if you use the enter button at the end of each thought so that paragraphs form and it is easier to read...

Fuel door is more than likely a broken latch at the end of the cable. Replace the cable.

Stumbling is a little harder, if it is not the engine, I would look at worn engine mounts, worn trany mounts, a broken diff mount, worn bushings, or worn rear shocks, or a combination of most of those.

The headlights can be replaced with lenses/bulbs. Ebay has them starting around $30+ shipping for a set.

bringing this from the dead cuz i have similar fuel door problems. mine wont open when i pull the latch. so i end up slipping my key in there and popping it manually. i figure it's something to do w/ the cable but i cant find a schematic of how to get to it to replace. i checked the FSM for body and couldnt find it in there. can someone point me in the right direction? thanks!

On the coupes there is an emergency release from inside, back at the door, just reach back behind the interior panel and you'll feel it.

You will have to remove a bunch of the interior to replace the cable. There wouldn't be any directions for that as it is too simple once the interior sections have been removed.
