fuel door...help!

fuel door...help!
my fuel door will not open. i dont know if it was frozen shut or not, it didn't seem like it. is there any emergency release in the trunk or something?? or will i have to replace the cable. im under 1/4 tank, so please help asap

It's likely frozen. Water gets in the cable and then freezes on nights like last night...
You can probably pry it open from the outside with a small bit of wood. I've had to do that and have never damaged the paint. If you can get at it from the inside, you may be able to pull the cable to open it up.
Either way, once you get it open you'll want to dump some oil down the cable to prevent this from happening again.

If the cable feels real *loose*/limp,then it's possible the cable broke at the end that is located inside the car.
Actually it may not be the cable but the part it attaches to at the door, but that is inside the car and hard to feel, see.
I had this happen to me and went to the junk yard and got another release mechanism. The part that has the tit on it that moves out of the way when the cable is pulled.
