fuel delivery problem???? need a little help with..

ok so i went to the store today car was running fine. i get out try and start and car dies. try again rpm's are at 0 and dont move. so me and my friends pull it with a chain home and right when we get in front of my house i turn the key and bam car turns on. i let it warm up it gets to operating temperature. so i go to drive around the block and it starts jerking and then bam shuts off. so i'm thinking its either the fuel filter or the fuel pump.... what do you guys think...

Makes sense to me. Fuel pump or filter maybe. If you've never changed the filter, go ahead and do it today. If it happens again after changing the filter, try jumpering that fuel pump connector at the front strut tower and see if the car will run. That will eliminate the possibility of the afm micro sw being bad. And just for grins, go to the air flow meter under the air filter, and make sure the plug is on good. If that plug comes off or is intermittant, it will cause the fuel pump to die..

Do you know where the fuel pump jumper is on the right hand strut tower? Yellow in color. Two sockets. Sometimes covered with a black rubber cover. Jumper that item with a piece of wire and see if the car will stay runnning. Write back. Also, with the key to on, and the fuel hose off, and the yellow connector jumped, does fuel flow. Shouldn't have to go to start with the key. Just to the ON position,. Give it a try.
