How hard is ti to replace? I was wondering because I think mine has gone bad and I am going to check it when I get home. Is it possible to do it myself of am I better off getting it done by a proffessional? If I cant do it myself how much would it cost to have it done?
You will need to remove the upper half of the intake manifold to replace it.
I generally will replace the intake gaskets, oil lines, clean the fuel injectors and clean out the 5th/6th ports (on non-turbos) when I replace one.
Doing it yourself, generally to do all that you will spend around $300 for a S4 and $$350-$400 for a S5, including the dampner.
But then you know your intake/FI is clean and working right.

Gasket sets for the upper intake, and the Injectors are available at places like Checkers, or Mazdatrix. I got them from Checkers.
There is probably alot of writeups, I know the search function is down, so that doesnt help you.
