fuel cut switch

ok, i know its been covered a ton of times, and i was just reading the past threads on it. but all of them talk about just cutting the black wire with the white strip and splicing. do u splice all three ends or just two of them? kinda confused on that topic.

o and the use of it. i know this is probly a dumb question but... do u shut the car off then hit the switch or what? cause after thinking about it, i didnt know how it would help if u shut the car off then hit the switch cause the fuel would still be there in the lines to flood the car.

Ron,

As for the wiring....all you are doing is installing the switch into that wire. You splice wire onto the two ends you cut and then both ends to the switch. When I had my '87, I used the switch to shut off the engine and I left it off when I started the engine. This provided the fastest, smoothest, hot starts. For cold starts, I left the switch in the on position.

I used to shut mine off with the switch. Once the car died, I turned it back on and left it there. The car would fire right up later.
