Fuel cut on my Rx with rtek system??

hey guys, i did a quick search didnt really find any thing, so heres the story:

been noticing on a very slight throttle, the ex. pops, which i think its always done
but now, when im completly of the throttle, in gear, decel., the ex. pops in
and around 2k. but didnt really think anything of it.

lastnight, right before going out to race, on a slight throttle(keeping speed)
the car would buck a bit, but not bad.
i raced a mustang on 15psi, and pulled him, but because of other races going on
behind us, i didnt feel like it was a fair race to him, so asked if he wanted to go
again.

went out and in 1st gear (20mph roll) race was bucking kinda bad. so asked
if we could roll a 40 (2nd gear launch) started the race and pulled hard for a sec.
the NOSE DIVED!!! couldnt figure out the problem, at this point on decel. ex. is
popping a lot.

we head out and i notice at idle its SUPER LEAN like my AFR gauge isnt even
showing a number, dont know how it idled. cruising at 60 the afrs, sometimes
dipped lean, but would come up.

so i decided to do another test, and get into boost. as soon as i got to 5-6psi,
its like it was fuel cutting, afrs would go super lean again.

any ideas??

any help would be great.

thanks

you gotta rtek, make a log of this when it happens, use parameters" afm amount, rpm, boost, tps, Wb02.

also

check the stupid things like loose I'c hose, or unplugged broken plugs for sensors: ETC, AFM, MAP, IAT, and is this s4?

give a complete modifications list. Do you still have an airpump on your car? Is the engine ported?

i suggest a fuel pressure test, or at least check the voltage at the pump while making a log of this.

+1 this sounds like a fuel problem.

(problem #1 ....I see no injectors or pump on that mod list )

Have a look in the tank, the sock could be clogged
When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?
Verifying fuel pump voltage is a good idea, and while your at it, check the actual connections at the pump to make sure nothing has giggled, or corroded its way loose.

ran a diagnostic on my Rtek:
Errors:
Tps sensor (narrow)

so ill swap that out and see how it goes.
do tps go out just suddenly like that?

when i was running the log the tps was working for a min.
then went to 100% all the time

ill post results after replacement

Thanks for the help!

well the tps helped, but its still not running good
still cutting out from 2-5psi.
almost sounds like what it would be if i slipped an IC coupler, but ive checked them all and
their good and tight

ive got 3 logs just cant tell what any of it means lol.

if i can figure out how to get it on here ill post it.

Make a .zip file of the log and you can attach it here. You'll also need to provide the voltage: AFR relationship used by your wideband controller so we can see the mixture on PLViewer.

This doesn't sound electronic... unless its related to the boost controller or the fuel pump isn't seeing proper voltage. If its running lean (and there have been no changes to the maps/timing) either A) Its not getting enough fuel ....or B) Air is sneaking in somewhere.

Pressure test both the intake track and the fuel system, and I'm pretty sure it'll get you headed down the path to recovery.

Could it be too Rich?

Search your MyComputer on your comp after you Hotsync for *.pdb files and you can rename the .pdb to .zip and post them as an attachment here, but we must know your O2 sensor scaling (5V=10AFR and 0V=20AFR) or something like that...

yaa... so i pretty well just hate Rtek... old *** technology..
it wont hotsync to my computer, wont even bluetooth hotsync

the only thing done on the logger, was to richen up, it had been showing rich up untill this..

what i saw on the logger was that it would just barely get into boost. 2-5psi, REFUSED to
go higher then that
heres values i logged right at ''fuel cut''

rpm: 4040
airflow: 15.1 lbs/min
map: 2.2 psi
tps: 94% (swapped out the one that was broke for on that read max on 94%, not great
it works for now)

intake air temp: (88.2*F)
timing L: +13.3 degrees
timing T: -1.8 degrees
O2(still doesnt work???) 0.03volts

Right at this point in the logger, the afr gauge face plants lean, like doenst even give a numerical value

ive dont this several times, soo if it would help to post more of these values right at F-UP,
i can

It sounds like you have something wrong with your PDA, dock or Palm software. I've never had any trouble hotsyncing.

What are the injector duty cycles when it face-plants? Is the secondary flag being triggered? When are you secondaries staged to come on?

just wish they'd atleast do a laptop program........aaahhh sorry was dreaming of the simplicity. lol

not sure guess i need to log that as well, not sure of that either actually.. they are set to come on at about 3300rpm

ill do somemore logs, with these values u said, and someothers.

would boost sensor caused this?

i got tps back into adjustment.
the test i did was i left the boost sensor harness unpluged, and it runs the same as it has been. which leads me to beleave its the problem.

it makes sense to be the boost controller, there arent any air leaks, as far as i can tell.
its getting fuel while driving, highway or in town, but when i get into boost fuel cuts.
and the timing doesnt seem to be off.

any input?

thanks!

o oo oooo and a dumb question, is there a difference between turbo and non-turbo sensors?

You CAN use a laptop with a palm emulator and a Serial to USB cable instead of using the palm. There is a thread in the Rtek forum with the details.

WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

i checked the filter sock, it was a little dirty, so i said screw it and swapped the pump and sock
all together.

but i do know what the problem is!!! i think...
did a log, and the 2ndry flag stays off!!!

would that feel like fuel cut??

why are the 2nds not coming on?

what do i need to do to fix this??

is this an ecu issue?

Any help would be great
