FTP Lenses?

Since my 87 sport doesn't have these I wanted to know if there are any inexpensive replacements below $160.00. Also how are they operated? Is there a special switch or somthin?

Your car doesn't have them? So it didn't have them from the factory? I didn't know that FC's were sold without them?

What do you have instead?

Just wanted to let you know that FTP lenses are not "operated" in any way unless you go to Corksport and buy the Japanese versions.
American FTPs are nothing more than plastic shells that cover he openings allowing allowing you to FLASH your high beams through them when you want TO PASS someone.
The Japanese versions can be operated as they are actual driving lights.

They can be found at Corksport.com. Keep in mind though that they're much more expensive than American FTPs. They sell for $152 bucks. http://www.corksport.com/main.php3?p...3Fcat%3D214912
As has been already pointed out though, if you really want FTPs they can be found in a yard MUCH cheaper.

Not driving lights, just 5W front marker lights. Not worth spending any money on, particularly since you'll no longer be able to flash your lights...

would it be possible to use the Jspec lights and a stronger bulb so they would be like driving lights?

Photos will do that, it's all about shutter speed. They look far less spectacular in the flesh. It's only a 5W bulb remember...

It's only a very small bulb fitting. They take those little glass festoon bulbs, not the bigger bayonet types used in the taillights, etc. Anything's possible with a little modification though, but if you're going to that extent, you might as well save some money and use the US-spec fittings as a base.

Two 8mm nuts per lense. You need to raise the headlights and remove the plastic trim to reach them. Always remove the "retractor" fuse from the engine bay fuse box before reaching in there. Those motors can do serious damage...
