FTP lens ducts?

I have seen on miata;s where they have the fake FP lens below the headlight, people have an airduct custom fitted there. Does anyone sell these for our cars?

You've got the same problem as removing the FTP lens.. What's sitting right behind that lens? A big ole headlight. remove the headlight, and you've got a bulkhead. Remove the bulkhead, and you've got something, especially if you duct the air back.. OTOH, WTF are you going to do without a headlight when your girl wants to go to the movies.... At night!

yes, but isnt the headlight out of the way when its in the up position? I would think that the cool air charge from the FTP area would outway the negative aero effects of having the light up. What do you think?

I was hoping to do a cold air induction on my TII, but it involves a little too much cutting for me...unless you catch air from under the car.

You answered your own question. Custom fitted. You have to make your own but it really isnt that difficult. But to make it effective takes a little cutting and ducting but it works fine for me because i have it on my car.

I am currently working on a $20 Home Depot "East-bear look" h'light conversion complete with using the FTP's as cooling ducts to the radiator.

**NOTICE** the front grill only allows access to the oil cooler. No direct air hits the radiator straight on....

Well, if it were me, I'd run a duct from the inner fender liner, cut a hole very close to the windshield washer bottle, and duct air from there..

THe problem, IMHO, with what you describe is that the air gets pushed into a big box (namely the area under the headlight ), and doesn't effeciently get ducted into the air intake.. And to put a duct in would block the headlight from going down..

Well the reason you haven't seen it is cuz it hasn't been posted yet .

I will make a full write up and post when it's completed. ...Hopefully with good results.
