Frustrated, where do I find the engine number

Frustrated

HI GUYS,
I am trying to register my car here in australia as i used to live in New Zealand and the local authorities
require my ENGINE NUMBER but the certifiers can't find one anywere on the engine.Can anyone tell me were it should be on a 1988 (13b turbo)Cabrolet engine so i can test out Queenslands awesome highways this coming weekend(Long weekend).

Engine number :

To me this would be the number located on the front side housing, just behind the waterpump housing and under the alternator.
