Front Wiper Motor Wont Stop Help?
I was washing the engine bay on my 87 fc and water got on or in something in a way that now my wiper motor won't stop this has been this way for 2 weeks. the motor is now unpluged so the motor isn't going when i have the car on. it seems like the motor was shorted out. is this familiar to anyone? and how did you fix the situation?

Never heard of anyone with this problem before but it shouldn't be to hard to fix. Check the wiring going to the motor for proper voltage at the correct places before buying a new motor. Could also be the switch in the dash.

Pull the plug off the SWITCH. Then plug the motor in and see if it runs or not.
Runs? Look for a dead short on the blue/red or blue/white wires of the motor CONNECTOR i.e. the wiring harness plug side.
No dead short? Crummy wiper motor.
The motor runs IF there is a gnd on either of the wires I mentioned above. The power does not come from the switch so that explains why it would run IF the wiper switch is disconnected. Key must be on, though.
Wiper motor does not run with the wiper switch disconnected? Bad wiper switch.
