Front or Rear rotor diagnosis

I've heard there are different reasons for why the front rotor goes sometimes and the back other times. My S5 NA lost compression in the front rotor, I thought this was odd because normally its the rear that goes?

Anybody got any ideas on this? On why the front goes or other times why the rear goes?

I do know that when I checked the front apex seals they were f*cked, probably cuz I limped the car like a half mile home. But the backs seem fine. Just curious to see if maybe my OMP went out.
