Front harness to fuse box

I've started ripping apart my drive side front harness to remove wires that arent needed after my swap. I want to keep all lights and the charging/starting system.
I read to replace the dash harness, you need to rip apart the dash (duh) but if I want to replace only the front harness in the bay, is it possible to disconnect it from the fuse box while leaving the dash in place?
I'm looking at the fsm where it goes in to the firewall and the fuse box but can't really make it out clearly.
Thanks

I've taken a couple of them out and they are not fun.
Seeing as you want just the lights and ****,I would be thinking of cutting the other stuff off after the firewall and looming the rest of it...
I have the same problem right now as I put in an Aftermarket Ecu and I want a cleaner bay too!

you would have to pull the dash to remove it. make sure you triple check what you are removing...you dont want to have to replace that harness (ask me how i know)

I saw a post on Norotors and the picture shows the guy unhooking everything in the bay and PULLING it through the fire wall hole, removing excess wires as its hanging out of the driver side door. Does this seem right? I will remove the dash if I have to, just making sure I NEED to to accomplish what I want.
