Front End suspension

I have notice a vibration when making slight right turns, and left to right lane changes when at highway speeds.

I was thinking a bushing or something along the line of the stabilizer bar.

Maybe I'm due to changeout the bushings altogether.

Which leads me to two questions:

How difficult is it to change out the bushings, and where can I find directions.

It does not vibrate when turning left or changing lanes right to left.

Thanks

That sounds more wheels/tires. How old are the tires? Are the wheels in balance? What's the allignment like? Any of those three can cause funny vibrations all varying depending on how out of whack things are.

well before you go buying a $100 bushing kit, and finding the press to do it and then spending hours upgrading only to find out it wasn't the problem, do a simple set of tests:

put the car up on ramps, lift, stands, anything

look and check you sway bar links,

your sways,

look to see if any of the weights on the inside of the wheel have fallen (you'll tell by the brake dust coverage)

Look at the ARM and it's bolts to make you're you're not missing any

check the suspension

check the steering

make sure you're not missing a bolt (simple fix)

if everything looks fine then go get an alignment done

did you do any of that yet?

also while you have it jacked up check the bearings, just grab the wheel and shake it up and down, side to side, shouldn't have to much play, mine had same symptoms as yours, bearings needed repacked and what not, also my ball joints were bad, still need my tierod ends done and an alignment but the vibration at turns and lange changes is gone

Update

Well today I noticed that the vibration seemed to have rythm to it, like it was rolling and shaking, which led me to believe the wheel bearings might be bad. So I pulled the wheel & hub off, and checked the bearings they were ok. But I noticed that the tie rod and the ball joint bushings were shot. So I need to replace them. I'm willing to tkae the chance and say that replacing both sides would be best.

Anyone know of a good (reputable place to get the parts to replace both the tie rod ends and the ball joints) can the bushings be rebuilt? meaning can the old ones be pressed out, and new ones pressed in?

Or is just odering the replacements from Mazdatrix the quickest way to go, they have them for 60+- per piece per side.

Thoughts ???

i got my ball joints from kragen, they are cheaper at mazdatrix but i got a discount, you just have to shop around for the tie rods, the bearings are replaceable but you have to go over to mazdatrix and read the FAQ on replacing bearings on 86 to 92's, keep in mind if you screw up a new HUB w/ bearings from Mazda is like 600 bucks per side, first clean the bearings and inspect them, most of the time you can just repack them, there is a way to inspect the ball joints and tie rods for end play, read up on that in the FSM if they are in specs you can just replace the dust boots on them, but if you are vibrating i would say that something needs replaced.
