Is it better to have the front end your going to run for a while on the car before having a FMIC installed or does it matter?

I'll be getting an RE Amemiya front end sometime in the near future but am needing a rebuild on my engine and was going to have a FMIC put on while i'm getting the rebuild done.

I'd like to get the rebuild done asap and not sure how long it will take for the front end to get here so will it make much a difference mounting a FMIC to the stock front end and later putting on the RE front end or is it best to get the RE on and have the FMIC fitted to it?

 

go ahead and put the FMIC in now. You mostly will have to modify the body of the car, not the front end so much. You can still modify the RE front end a little to fit with the FMIC when you get it.

I think that I will go the junkyard and find an extra bumper, modify to how I want it, and then go through the whol painting process. My front end is faded anyway, and this way if I make a monster error somewhere it's not a big deal.

 

At first, I thought my comp was loading the picture wrong, but now that I look at it closely, WOW! That looks crazy! Very creative and unique. Not to mention functional. Very slick. Is that your car 1FastT2? If so, what front mount is that? Looks HUGE. 6-row baby eater?

Hey guys, thanks for all the great compliments. Yes that is my car, and yes its real. I do all the work to my car myself. This weekend I will be getting back my digital camera from my brother and will post some new pics of it. The front end is from a S5 with just some creative cutting. I was having cooling prolbems and this was my only solution at the moment, worked and looked great so I kept it.

 

I have had terrible cooling problems after in installed tthe frontmount, this helped you with coolant temps?

 

Could be that stock radiator still in there (unless you got a new one now, then nevermind me)

 

Hey 1FastT2, You say you are using an s5 front end on your S4. Was there any issues with the fit or did everything line up correctly? Reason I ask is because the RE is for an S5 and they say there is a small gap between the hood and bumper and also one at the bottom just in front of the tires.

I am wondering if S5 fenders would solve this or is there any difference between S4 and S5 fenders at all?

That **** is freaking INSANE! 1fast, you gotta start a business and do that for other people's bumpers.. That just looks rediculous, in a good way of course. I thought the greddy was smaller... I mean, damn! That just looks gigantic. I can't believe that's only a four row... Wow. Great work! Let us know about the bumper fit!

Its really not too difficult to cut a bumper if you have like a dremel tool. Only takes a few minutes. I do think it looks really good 1FasT2 and I am going to buy another bumper and do mine something more like that.

 

It just looks so good though. Very measured out and everything exact as if he had a stencil or something. You didn't use a stencil did you 1fast? I have a dremel. And I've used it on my front bumper too, under it where the lip curls back and ends, I have my neon tube sitting right tucked right in there so it can't be seen from the front on the car. Perfect fit, but didn't put much light on the ground. Plenty on the rad. though! So I cut away some of the bumper to have more light shine down and it was a BITCH! Took a while.. my bumper was still on the car too, so I was on my back and my arms got REAL tired after 10 minutes. It's thick stuff...

Hey guys. The bumper fit just fine. I did have to do alot of cutting and notching to get it to fit correctly with the intercooler behind it but nothing major. There are some small gaps that I need to get filled but I will have that done when the car gets repainted.

 

1fast- I cant wait till you get your dig camera back! I want to see some pics of those Sparco's and more of the front and engine bay. I think that I am going to make one of them my wallpaper because your car looks AMAZING!!
