Front brake pads for $1.99!
Surfed Ebay this morning and saw this auction:
$1.99 Front brake pads
So, I bought a set. I figure, what the hell? If they last 15k miles, great! I can live with that for $1.99.

$1.99 for brake pads? From a financial point is a steal but I there is a little voice that keeps saying "You get what you pay for". I'm scared to trust my ability to stop on something that cost $1.99. When you put them on and drive them for a bit. Give us a follow up report on them.

OH MAN, for $1.99...think of the materials they used for making the brake pads! Probably cost them a buck in materials and labor. So its just some junk put together real fast and cheap...I dunno man, that's risky business...your gambling with your LIFE on $1.99 BRAKE PADS!!!!!!

Actually, they're factory brake pads
I got into that e-bay dutch auction myself and won at $1.99. For some reason he wouldn't let me up my quantity at the same bid.
But factory pads new old stock, can't go too wrong.

I bought those pads about 2 months ago and installed them right away. My old pads were fairly worn and I didn't want to spring for Hawk HP's. Those pads are pretty decent. A bit better than my old ones and minimal dust that I've noticed (although it is winter, so not too much washing going on). If you don't want/can't afford performance pads, I'd go with the $1.99 pads. A better price would be tough to find.
