Front Brake pad replacement ?
quick Q here:
How do you compress the pistons in the GXL (big) brakes? The FSM shows a cool special tool for this but, of course, I don't have one... I'd rather not have to take the calipers off if I don't have to...takning advantage of Mazda's easy-replacement design is my aim.
Can this tool be found anywhere about?

Do you have the 4 piston caliper brakes? If so the pads load iin like a toaster for lack of a better description. On my '91 I can use a 16 mm wrench and push the pistons back in using the brake rotor for leverage. You may notice that when you push them in the opposite side will come out. Just keep pushing them in.

I used the handle of my C Wrench and it was easy. Well, there was one side of the passenger right caliper that didn't move as easially as the others but....
