I have a friend looking for a second gen, we've found one for sale that the owner wanted $2200 obo for, haven't gone to look at it yet but he claims that it's in the shop to have it swapped from auto to 5 speed.


What kind of things should we check for other than leaks, smoke, and the other things you look for in any car. I know some of what to expect from a 12a but nothing about 13b's.

 

Well, other than the EFI, the engine-health signs will be the same as the 12A.... Smoke, drinking coolant, oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil... bubbling coolant, overheating... stuff like that.
