fried ignitor

my rx lost spark some time ago. the rotary guy working on it said that the ignitor is fried. so my question is, what is an ignitor. and where is it? do you have one to sell me?

It is very very rare to have a coil/ignitor assembly fail. More times than not, it is related to something else and hase been mis-diagnosed when someone says the ignitor or coil has failed.

The ignitor is the device that takes the signal from the ECU to fire the coils. On the FC the ignitor and coil are all one thing.

if you wish to buy something, you will want to put a post in the For Sale/wanted section with WTB in front of the post heading. You would not want to post a want to buy ad here in the FC section.

well he has been a rotary mechanic for 25 years, actually came from japan about the same time the rx 7 was hitting the states. so i will trust him, seeming how we already checked the cas and computers, the coils are putting out a wierd read, and thats because of the ignitor. so we will see.
