Unhappy Fresh rebuild wont idle?

S5 na with 0 miles won't idle. I can start it and keep the throttle open it will stay on for a bit, but as soon as I let off it dies.. I've been playing with the idle screw but nothing. A little background info complete emissions delete, all the block off plates, 3 inch exhaust all the way back(car came with it kinda big for a na), stock ecu, and it has an e-fan. I would really appreciate some help please.

Thanks

Brandon

most fresh rebuilds wont idle. it will take some time but eventually when everything "seats" it will idle properly

If it has the compression to start then it should have the compressions to hold an idle. My guess would be that in the process of reinstalling the engine you developed a vacuum leak somewhere. That's where I would start.

Did you reinstall the engine yourself?

Are you still running the coolant line to the TB? Does the car hold an idle when fully warm?

People like to remove emissions crap (fine), but that leaves a lot of things to double check for capping off properly. Removing the thermowax/coolant to TB (as mentioned) and the BAC does not help the situation at all.

Throttle cable ...done

for a fresh rebuild adjust the throttle cable for an idle of 1200....untill break in ,dont worry about trying to set the idle you,ll go mad...wait till you have about 600 miles on it and try not to go over 4000rpms...

Probably a big vacuum leak, out of curiosity check the engine compression..
