Fresh rebuild cranking but not firing up

i just got my engine back in the car(87 t2). But here are a few problems. I have spark, i have fuel going into the rail. but my spark plugs are bone dry. Im trying to see if i missed a connection somewhere. but all the plug to the injectors are on. The maf and Cas are on . Im wondering if i forgot to plug in the TPS. but i dont think so. Also there is a (if i remember correctly) 6 pin harness right near my ecu its a white harness. I cant remeber if that goes to anything . are there suppose to be some unplugged harnesses in the cabin near the ecu ??? also are the trailing coils suppose to fire during start up ???? i think i might have not checked it properly but it seemed like i didnt get any spark . any hel

There aren't supposed to be any unplugged harnesses that I know of man.

If you have 1 green and 1 white harness plugs not plugged in that would probably be your problem... they go up near where the harness enters the cabin through the firewall.

But I wouldn't think so because you have spark... check the timing? There are a ton of things that can keep it from starting... does it start to turn over at all? Act flooded? Make a stumbling sound?

Anything more than "it won't start" is helpful in diagnosing things.

You could also have a massive vaccum leak, it would cause a no start.

well the plugs are bone dry . and i do have 2 harnesses that arent plugged in. One is white and i can remeber the color of the other. when i crank it over. it sounds like any other rotary. Only it doesnt stumble. I doubt it flooded. It basically sounds, and looks like im getting spark , air, and no fuel .. im gonna go over it again in the morning im just looking for ideas on where to go and look

Edit. I also have the ecu completly plugged in

Those two wouldn't plug into the ECU, they would plug into a place up near the firewall... it's very hard to get to them unless you have small hands and arms... I have to sit upside down in the seat and cram my head into the corner just to SEE a corner of the plugs... just to see which one is green and which one is white... then I jam my arm up in there and try to plug them in. I've gotten ok at it though.

If those two are unplugged they're probably your problem. Check that out?

Those two plugs in the cabin go where Gary said. I remove the blower motor that is sitting right in the way, that way my fat hands fit
