Fresh air headlight cover

Anyone have this on their car? I saw it on rx7.com. Obviously colder intake temp is better, but does it really work better than the stock. I've got a TII and I don't want it looking too ricey either, anybody got a picture of it on the car?

Andy,

I have it on my car. Believe me, it is NOT ricey. Does it work? I really don't know or cannot verify, but I can tell you that i can feel hot air coming out (parked car) of the openning after some hot runs...So, my arguement is that since hot ait comes out, cool air must be able to enter while driving. Here is a pic...

Here is another...

Ryde,
I noticed that you asked for a blue strut bar in the other thread. How is this one from Trust? It is currently on eBay for only $67 (I just got it last week). Just go to ebaymotors.com and do a search for "RX7 strut"...

anyone ever tired to make their own? it dosen't look too hard (although i've never taken off the cover). I was thinking of making a mold off of a stock metal one and cut a inlet. then make it out of fiberglass and carbon fiber... don't know how well it would work though.

Thanks for the input and the pics, I think I may try to make one first though since I think 140 USD is a bit steep. If I fail I may buy one.

Yea I may try to make one as well since my passenger side one has a small dent/crease in it anyways.

custom cover

i am attempting to make my own cold air headlight cover. i just got one off my parts car. shouldn't be too hard just a little time consuming to make it look nice. i pulled the cover off the top of the headlight and there are a few structural supports under it. looks like kinda of overkill though. i am going to trim away a portion of the supports to allow for a larger opening in the cover.

i will let everyone know how it turns out.
