free power?

Okay, I know you guys are gonna read this...laugh...read it again...and laugh some more. But it's the truth. My pedal covers were all wore out and one was missing so I replaced them with sparco grip pedals. Well I ended up cutting off the bottom 2 inches of the gas pedal because the sparco cover was much shorter...and I swear my car feels faster in the 7-8krpm range now. I know you are all laughing now...but is it possible that the pedal was hitting the floor before I cut it? On my old civic hybrid I had some pedal covers on there and they were a little long. Well I was doing some work in the car and realized that the pedal touched the floor, so I took it out and went back to the track. I could immediately tell it made a difference, and my track times proved it. My car first ran a 15.5 1/4, then after I took off the pedal cover (no other mods) it ran a 14.2. Yes...I launched better that day, but not a full second faster. Well back on topic now....if you put your pedal to the floor, does it touch the floor? I guess that's what I'm getting at.

you can just look at your thottrol body while somebody else steps on the gas.

if it wasn't opening all the way before then maybe your throttle cable is too lose.

How did you run 14.2 in a '90 vert?

Anyway, it's possible that your throttle cable is out of adjustment and thus was preventing the throttle plates from opening all the way.

nah...14.2 was in a 92 civic hatch with a b16
vert would be lucky to run a 16
with a tornado behind it

(Edit...Turn 3 one line posts into 1 three line post)

If your throttle cable is out of adjustment then I could see that...but that's weird man lol. Was that b16 civic naturally aspirated? 14.2 is nice for a B16 civic....
