Weight reduction......search the forums for what all you can remove. I know more about a TII instead of n/a though.

First of all, get a tune up, new plugs, oil, coolent, get everyitng checked down to tires, make your car run right, then mod

Yes you can loose the air pump but then your 5th and 6th ports wont work, so you can wire them open, remove them, there are many options pertaining to them,

for weight reduction you can remove the AC, which is the Compressor, Condensor, Evaporater and the thing under the dash, you can remove the Power Steering pump and convert to a manual rack. If you wanted to you can 1. Remove the sound deading material from under the floor mat in your car, or 2. remove everying inside AKA GUT it

If you want mods, look at RacingBeats exhaust for some good exhaust in my opinion, get a good clutch,

before you ask, It is very expensive to turbo charge you rx7, there is no kit for it, you have to do it all your self, you can swap a t2 engine into your car also, but that also requires you to upgrade the transmission, driveshaft and differentail, wireing harnes and ecu for starters, if you want a turbo charged car, buy a T2

running a high octane gas will get you nowhere in your car, you can run the low stuff w/o ne problems and will se no loss in power

there are more things but im to lazy to type em, if i were you i would fix whats wrong with it first, and mod later

what are the problems its having?

Sigh. In '86-'88 cars, the air pump DOES NOT effect the operation of the ports.

Removing your airpump would require you to remove your catalytic converter, which WOULD effect the operation of the ports. Best bet is to install a high-flow cat instead.

Free mods:
-weight reduction
-remove: A/C
-cut big hole in airbox lid
-advance timing
-throttle body mod (search)

Weight reduction will have the most effect. And BE SURE to get your car running right before you mod it. This means a full tune-up at least, and some repair work at most.

Meet your new best friend >

You will find an infinite amount of information (and opinions) by searching.

But like CrackHeadMel said, tune up the car to run like normal first. Then improve performance. A Haynes manual and a Factory Service Manual (FSM) will teach you butt loads about the rotary engine and the RX-7. Go to www.fc3s.org and on the left, click on "How To's". In the menu that drops down, click on "Manuals". Then select the year for your car. Gotta have adobe acrobat reader since its PDF.

for the wiper fix, search for something along "wiper fix", it usuly involves re-soidering some electronic thing into the switch, i havent done it

i have no idea on defrost, maby a fuse?

And the hesitation could be a tone of things, check your grounds, get injectors cleaned, i dono, search on hesitation and you will find tones
