Hi all.

A bit ago i saw a Thread about the Re Amemiya 4 wheel drive race car. does anyone know the spec of this car? is it somthing that car be done or is it just a one off heaverly modified race car that would cost the earth to build?

I am just thinking it would be better to get the power down.

well it would get the power down better but then you would have to beef up the engine more in order to keep the same rwhp with all of the extra drivetrain. not worth it in my opinion.

if you want awd you should go for an imprezza, fun cars

Yeh i know where u are coming from but i'm talking about the Re Amemiya car with its 3 rotor engine and heaverly striped, Even if i did'nt do all that to mine i am intrested to find out more about these one off Monsters.

here in nz there is a '90's subaru legacy/liberty(nt sure wht they call them overthere) with a rotor in it.. but thts all i kno bout 4wd rotors...

have a 1st gen 4wd and 2nd gen 4wd that he rallied before he became a big time parts guy.....

Can it be done? I guess yes. Probably costs a few bucks tho...

Is the R.E. Amemiya car the rear engine or front engine one?

You can use a aftermarket (i.e. Quaiffe) front longitudinal transmission with the split front wheel drive section - we're talking $10,000+ just for the trans here!

The Rod Millen car used some FWD parts off a current 626 back then to design the front-wheel assembly.

people have been succesfully drag and all other types of racing for years with RWD cars,,believe me there are cheaper ways of getting power to the ground,,,if John force can do it with 10k horse power you can do it with 200

Another major hurdle: if you look at a cross-section of an FC the front axle line goes right through the engine's front plate, so you'd have to move the engine back a fair way just to give clearance for the diff and axles. Here's a pic of the engine bay of Ron Millen's car, note the position of the strut (front axle line) and the base of the windscreen showing how far back the motor is.
Besides, real sports cars are RWD...

John Force only has ~6K hp and the chassis on those cars are made especially for getting the power to the ground. They run 33" tires, have 4-link or ladder bar suspension, big gears, special coilover springs or just springs, and a big team of people trying to make the car launch better.

I personally think 4WD would be cool, you would get the power to the ground w/o adding a huge amount of weight or looking all over for parts. ant it would be cool to see all four wheels throwing up smoke.

I would love to see a awd RX-7.

I liked awd the first time I stomped the gas pedal coming out of a corner (some old beater Subaru).

Anybody have pictures of the Rod Millen cars?

mmmm I see what you mean about the Diff?. If i wanted to make my car 4x4 it would take alot of work and would proberly be easyer to build one from a new shell.

One day may be but the weight it would gain would **** up my power to weight? i would need a 3 or 4 Rotor engine and big Bhp then i would struggle with the box so its Swings and Rounderbouts.
