Found s5 vert what's next?

Ok i found this vert in behind a redneck car lot it has a blown motor..... It is in GREAT SHAPE OTHERWISE!

Body is so straight
rb mufflers
18" wheels/ proxes
momo pedals
momo steering wheel/ shift ****
Aluminum cluster
hks adapter

I can get it for a couple $100 bucks...I know it's worth it..
But I will need it as a daily driver...I have a 87 se that i would be swapping the motor/ computer from, other then that waht else will need to swap to get it to run...Is it a good idea? thanks

why swap an s4 motor into it?? look around and see if you could get a cheap used s5 motor that still runs for now and then get the motor that you take out of it rebuilt when you get a chance. if you werent so far away id sell ya the one out of my 89 gxl for cheap, cuz im not gonna ship.

that's a steal! Sell it to me, and I'll pull the engine from mine and put it in. for a couple hundred dollars, just sit on it til you have the money for a tII motor, and do it right!

Good find. are you sure that it is an S5 because it has the orange blinker lenses, it could of just been repainted and they decided to paint the moulding. I would save up to do a turbo swap instead of keeping it a NA.

That's an S4... Look at the design of the side molding, where the ridge is, it's center, like an S4. Looks like they just painted the molding to match. I'd take a look for any poorly repaired body damage (maybe a reason they repainted, other then asethetics).

If it really is straight body wise, you're a lucky guy. Hell, those wheels look to be worth a couple hundred alone.

why couldn't i have gotten that lucky? my 90 vert cost me 2000 bucks & i've got work to do on it. at least it runs, just gotta put a new clutch in it to see what it'll really do. then a new rear top, a cat back, then a stereo.

if it's an s5, why put an s4 engine in it? If its an s4 as others are saying, then your se engine may just bolt up. Right? What year is the current owner saying it is? What engine is in it now?

A little more info-

It is an s4 so guess what- motor swaps perfectly!!!
It runs but smokes like a chimney
49k original miles
carfax says no wrecks listed broken into once
it has rb springs and swaybars too!

I can't believe i found this thing buried in the back of that hick dealer's lot!!

I'm picking it up next week, it drives but i'm like 18 miles away so i'm gonna tow it.. It's so sweet......he's had it for like 3 years sitting back there.. the 18" racing wheels are sweet!!!! not so nuts on the steering wheel or the blue interior...but i can't complain...I'll post updates on the cleanup and swap.

that's what I love about these cars.

They break so catestrophically that people just let them sit until one day they break down and get rid of them for a couple of 100 bucks.

Awesome find RR.
