Found a good deal but will it work..HELP!

Ok i am convering to carb

I found a dellortro sidedraft with a rb upper manifold and OEM GSL-SE 6 port lower (no actuators) they would need to be filled i'm guessing.

I can get the carb, filter, rubber mounts, and both manifolds for under $400...

Can i use the gsl-se manifold and get the car to run right?

Also any of you running carbs how did you pipe/ hook up the fuel pump?

thanks need answers ASAP!!!

don't you need a low pressure (thinking like 6psi) fuel pump?

Run an inline pump, you could possibly just use the return tube as your pick-up.

Does the return tube actually get submerged in the tank, though? Can you slip a rubber hose onto the return so it picks up from the bottom?

IIRC it goes as far down as the pump's pickup itself. Let me check a picture.

Yes, it goes all the way down as far as the pump itself. I'd suggest running a low-pressure in-line filter as well.

I'm confused, which side are you worried about not lining up? The LIM/Engine side shouldn't matter (even if the GSL-SE LIM is an s4 and the engine is an s5-- you didn't say).

check the RV website to see if they have different carb UIMs to different years... I still think the LIMs porting should match up though-- maybe not the studs... :/

The se's ports are smaller than the s4 or s5. I wouldn't use it if my expectation was for power. I routinely swap GSLSE intakes with s4 or s5's and get LARGE power gains, just by doing that. The s4 primary intake runners are probably 20% larger, at the block. All their ports are stupid small on those engines.

IT will work, but it might not flow killer.
