uhhh.... if you look at the first pic... you can see the exhaust. so that 'side exhaust' is just a sticker...... that seems pretty ricey to me.... ive seen civics do that... eww. and just because its in japan doesnt automaticaly mean that its fast as hell. there are poor ppl and ricey ppl in japan too.

 

Where can you get stock light assemblys for the second gen? My right ones are ******* cracked, and no offence, but the ones in the pic would look 10 times better than the ones that I have!

Mazdatrix sells them but they want 'as usuall' a ******* arm, leg and body for the things... ugh, so goddamn expensive. Anywhere that sells aftermarket ones? didn't see any on corksport...

 

wouldnt you want try to look on ebay ive seen alot of ttaillights on there take a shoot at it and im pretty sure it would beat the price on corksport and mazdatrix

well, i've seen those lights (in pic) in Tokyo Xtreme 3 too.... i mean, they are OK =) but i like stock S5 better =)

and well, i know diff countries have diff preference when mod-ing cars.... but if u live in the US, and then u notice the FAST & FURIOUS crap..... u will hate on anything RICE too.... people with crap cars mod the exterior and think that Vtec is SHI* and will Smoke everyone at Quart Mile...... and like, I can launch, can u? and their attitude.... U SHOULD SEE THEIR FACES!!! every time they drive by, they have this MEAN and "I'm cool" look on their faces..... whats worse? Primer and they think it is cool or Primered hoods pretending they are carbon fiber....

well this is not THAT bad, but i've seen alot of GOOD and GREAT Japanese FCs and their exteriors..... those lights are better than Altezza style in my opinion, but thats about it....

The car has a left sided single exhaust and the pipe that goes out from the side is for the external wastegate to dump in the air. A lot of cars here do the same thing.

I'm not trying to bash you but your making a statement about Japanese Rx7's are going to be faster than 90% else where just because of location and amount produced.

They may have some after market parts available that we don't but we also have people like Mazdatrix,Atkins,and Racing Beat here. Don't forget about the Aussies either. There are some hardcore Rotorheads there.

The Amemiya kit would let you assume that there is a very good chance of it being a beast but then again the kit is domestic to them thus making it cheaper and available.
On the other hand you have Vinyl,TV's,all Blue interioir, and a body kit/lenses. This could lead you to believee it's a show car which generally has little done under the hood.

at least the car has an external wastegate..... so can we agree that it is modded?

personally... i like the taillights... i have never seen a car w/ those lights(fc that is)... so they are different! i like different...... now, the "fast and the furious" graghics are queerish, japanese people usually do a great job @ putting on graghics that look awesome... not this time! the wing is definently "honda-ish".... needs to go!!! but the rest of the car was well done!! the fc2000 nose, gp sport sideskirts (i think), and unknown (possibly eurobuni???) rear bumper.... dont really care for the wheels, but im not saying they are ugly.... just not my style! but if the owner likes the car, then that is really all that matters!!

if you want to find the fastest rx7's in the world i would look at how much performance parts are in diff locations.... the cheapest performance parts places will more than likely have more people buying them... just a thought... arent performance parts cheaper in japan because its non import? such as domestic performance parts being far cheaper for domestics in the US... dont know but was wanting to post my thoughts

 

Nice car but, that wing and the headlights kill it, and the monitors... and the graphics.

 

Thats cool im all up for a friendly debate! Personaly I think that this car is a show car plain and simple, the TVs are what makes me think that. But the WG dump through the fender, exhaust and the simple fact that it is a turbo make me think that that car as ricey as it is is still faster than most of the FCs running around here with cone filters and Midas straight piped exhaust on 16sec N/As. I mean lets face it most of the FCs in this country are N/A. Again im not big on this style, just take a look at my car pics in my forsale add.....I dont even sport a stock wing................but I bet there wouldnt be so many "rice" coments if the picture of that car was of it side ways in a D1 event...........look at the D1 cars for gods sake they look just as rediculous minus the TVs. Finaly as ricey as it is the car is well put together. the body work, kit and paint look top notch as well as the interior. Its not all Krylon'd with R Racing seat covers from schucks so you have to atleast give him credit there. By the way its for sale on yahoo auctions Japan if any one can see if there is a modds list I didnt check

Not really, I'm not a big fan of vert's. There are just some small (or large) things on that particular FC that makes it look bad IMHO. I'm not really into the big speakers and tv's in the headrest thing, nor the large Fast and Furious graphics on the side. And that wing is just horrible. It would look so much better with no wing or a nice whale tail.

 

man i dont think thats an external wastegate.... why would you do that? if hes really going for a fast car then he would realize that adding more pipe would just make the car even more heavier. that and if it is functional wouldnt you think it would be up closer to the engine bay?

 

well, my wastegate is right infront and below of my downpipe, where my pre-cat used to be......

having the wastegate does not mean it would be near the engine bay,

my other message to RHDturboII (maybe i should do a search), was about the functionality of a side vented wastegate

adding more pipes does not mean it is bad...

because they dont look good on a car like that lol, Im going to add to some of the commotion here, almost every single modified car i saw in japan was comepletely modded out or was completly stock and unmodded, Remeber, parts are alot cheaper over there than over here and there seems to be an abundance of parts in japan that noone sells over here, Ex: (body grouding straps, in car adjustable swaybars etc.....) and its all cheap as hell!!!

I like your style ecko1980. I like the damn car, and the clear tails. That doesn't necessarily mean I would make my car look like that, but it is nice. I've seen civics that looked good and neons that looked good too. Just because rx-7s are the best cars in the world, doesn't mean everything else should be hated on. It's so lame sometimes on this site to see a thread with 500 different people calling something "rice". You are all driving Japanese cars DUMBASSES!!! This forum is all about a Japanese car. There are different styles of making a car look good, and I think this is a nice looking car of the totally extreme and intense style. Some, like myself, prefer the clean look, but god, give me a ******* break with this 'rice' ****.

Also, on a side note, the car modding culture in Japan focusses more on custom, home-made mods like these tails because of the saturation of the aftermarket with any part imaginable. A car with an obviously custom peice is the only way to be unique in their culture. There thats my rant, blast me if you want.

 

Some people do that because when the wastegate is open vented, it shoots fire and they do not want to shoot the fire under the car. They do that so the fire will escape not anywhere near the engine...
