found a 87 Turbo 2 for 2800

ha!! i thought i would never find one, let alone in my own town!!
I was talking to a friend and he said he had seen an old guy driving an 87 turbo 2 and that he knew where he lived. so we went to his house and asked him if he would sell it. he said maybe so we went to take a look. Besides the dent in the door(got backed into) this thing was in prestine condition and has 95K on it and didn't have any rust. it is totaly stock!! For 2800.

Is this a good price? What do ya think?

How big is the dent? Ask him if you can take it for a drive (with him in the car obviously). Check how it idles, revs, rides...make sure everything works, all lights, fans, A/C, power options and listen for any noises from the tranny/suspension. If everything works and the car is clean 2800 isn't that bad, but still a tad high. I wouldn't pay more than $2500 (though I as u said it is rare in your area). If he would pay to fix the door 2800 would be ok...

Btw, don't give the guy a heart attack until AFTER he signs the title over.

I was the one who showed him the car. I had seen this old guy driving it around last summer. The guy told us he would sell it for 2500, I think john said 2800 because the dent looks like it would be about 300 to fix.

He said the wipers only work on one speed, is this a common problem with s4's? Anyone know how to fix.

Besides the dent and the wipers the only other things are peeling molding on both the doors (easy to glue back on). The car is completely stock with new tires. He said he had regular tune ups and changed the oil every 3000.

The wipers are a common problem to all 2nd gens, check the FC FAQ at the top of the main page and you'll find info about it.
