engine hose kits
engine hose kits
im replacing the engine in my TII and im changeing all the hoses while im in there has anyone used the hose techniques kit for the 2nd gen? happy with it? not enuff hose? im not using stock hose because i want to use colored hose.
Before you start - warning - the combination of old stiff hoses & fragile plastic solenoid nipples will test you.
Two tricks:
1) Cut the hose about 1" from the nipple.
2) Pull it straight off with "bent tip" long nose pliers.
3) Use a gentile twist if needed, but pull straight.
I read somewhere over a year ago that it takes ~30ft of vac hose. That seem like a lot, but maybe?

i bought 30 feet of 4mm hose from hose techniques not the kit and i changed alot of the lines and only have about 8 feet left so ya 30 is about right
i woundt buy the kit cause MOST of the lines are 4mm there are only a few that are bigger ReTeds site used to tell how much of each size so that you wouldnt need to pay that rediculous amount of money but i dont think his site is up any more

Actually, right there on there site it says 3.5mm is for all rx7's. i just bought 14ft of 3.5mm Super Red and about 10ft of 6.0mm to redo the vac lines in my 86 gxl. I have heard nothing but good things about Hose Techniques silicone vac hose.
