Former RX7/RX8 owner saying hi
Hey guys, I use to own 2 RX7 Turbo's (10th anniversary and S5), a 3rd gen, and a RX8. I currently have a 2003 Porsche 911 and a 99 Prelude as a beater. I've been interested in possibly picking up another 2nd gen. Anything new develop in the last 3-4 years? I've been out of the RX7 circle for a while. I just sold the RX8 about a month ago. Loved the car, but on a quest for more power I bought the 911. I don't think I'll ever get away from RX7s. Love the cars so much. Just thought I'd ask around.

New developments? More ECU options are available. You can get Rtek 2.1 chips for the s4 cars that will let you edit the stock fuel and timing maps, cranking map (to reduce chance of flooding), etc. There are also a lot of other random different aftermarket parts you can get, like now you can get an adapter for the Apex'i Power FC. Rtek 2.0/2.1 chips are also available for nonturbo cars. People are making more power than ever on these cars.
On the other hand, the cars are older and finding clean ones is getting harder. A lot of the major parts manufacturers are slowly abandoning the FC, like HKS and Greddy.

more and better ecu options,
people like shine auto making remaking JDM body parts
great turbo selection
more people running higher boost on pump gas
meth, alcohol, and water injection popularity is way up
of course some old company's are out of business and some parts are no longer made. but over all you have more choice these days.
