Unhappy forgot the cups on the engine mounts

I forgot to put on those little removable cups-looking things on the engine mounts when I put in my TII motor, so I figured I'd have to lift it up a little to put them in. but then I started to think...... what do those things really do anyway? why can't I just leave them out?

so, can anyone answer my thoughts?

Do you mean the rubber insert that sits in the mount? Thats the important part...

No, he's talking about these round hockeypuck lookin things (hollow) that are basically just guards. The idea, if Im not mistaken, was that these would help keep stuff off the motor mounts, and keep the rubber from deteriorating as much.

I have yet to install a set back into a car, and Ive done over 100 installs...

no. there's the motor mount, which has the rubber things, then there's a little METAL cup which just sits underneath the ruber part, and above the frame.

the bolt on the motor mount goes through this cup.

I don't know how to explain this any better.

I left mine out because I forgot them like you. Seems alot of people dont put them back on or dont have them period. I dont think its a big deal to leave them off and it beats pulling up the engine just to put them in
