Forcing up the windows

I've got about 1 hour to figure out how to force up my power window on a s5. I thought the PW would just take it up, but I can't get it. I need it up before I leave for work. It's not a DD, but it's taking up garage space that isn't mine.

Anybody ever have this problem?

I've tried the "motor assist" where you pull while lifting on the swith, which worked in the past, but isn't now.

Yes, I'm aware that there is something more major wrong, but I don't have the time for that.

Does your window move at all when you hit the power window switch? If so then pull the door panel, unbolt the glass (lowering it softly), unbolt the track, pull it out, clean it, oil it (I suggest lithium grease), and replace everything.... that's what worked for him... the window used to get to halfway then get stuck and sometimes slowly move up till it would all of a sudden rush to the top.

Ok it's the driver's swith and I have the door panel partially removed, but can't get it the rest of the way.

The passenger's window works fine from the driver (or pass) side.

Nevermind, by some strike of luck I was able to get the window up. I'm going to suggest to my dad that he completes the process of lubing/cleaning the contacts.

pull the trim off, disconnect the plug running from the switch to the motor (I think thats it the one.. itll be the plug closest to the motor)

Grab some speaker wire or something, run it from battery to the prongs inside the plug (without crossing the wires..) you'll find one way of putting them on will be up, the other will be down.

This has worked for me before, providing its just the switch thats carked it.

yeah if you wanna do it the complicated way jk

just plug the interior door light wire into the motor wire. same size plug. well... that makes it go down at least... to make it go up just reverse the + and - wires.
