Foam around radiator

A mouse decided that the foam around my radiator makes a good nesting material. The mouse has been taken care of, but now the foam is all chewed up. Do I need the foam for cooling purposes or can I just remove it.

It's probably good for ducting air, but I wouldn't worry about it being gone It usually gets real nasty and torn up after 15 years anyway...

Ahh that foam sqaure section, along the front of the rad.
Noticed mine was loose the other day so I pushed it back down ...Then did a 148 mph run had alook under
the bonet when I got home ( like you do) and the whole
piece of foam was gone!. I guess it's there for a reason
so I'm going to replace it, must be some kind of cold/hot
air bridge?

Buy some new stuff from Home Depot if your original foam is nasty. In all honesty, I would just fab up something with that silvery tape (not duct tape) and some thin gauge sheet metal in order to conduct air better.

The foam does add to airflow efficiency through the radiator...&nbsp I doubt you could tell any significant difference, unless your radiator core is all plugged with crud and debris...
